Welcome to Porter Wool Co! Each skein of yarn has been hand-dyed and packaged for you with love by Katlin, full-time stay at home mom by day, business owner and dyer by night.

Porter Wool Co. was born in 2020 after Katlin resigned from her high school English teaching job (when grading too many essays on the weekends was no longer possible after the birth of her third child), and she needed something creative to call her own.

Katlin loves all things color and fiber--including knitting, spinning and crocheting. As an equal opportunist, you can find her sipping on a matcha latte in the mornings, and decaf coffee by the afternoon. When dyeing in her basement studio, you'll often hear a variety of music, or just the banging of dye pans as she listens to her next favorite audiobook; she hasn't figured out how to read and dye at the same time... yet. She believes that love is love, and everyone (regardless of faith, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability) deserves to hold space in this world, deserves to have a voice that is heard, and deserves to have their experiences believed.

Our goal is to provide you with wearable, classic and eclectic colors. You can expect thoughtfully dyed quality yarn and fibers! We inspect each and every product before it leaves our home to make sure you're receiving our best.

We aim to inspire you to create something beautiful that you can love and share for generations.
