Our Process

All of our undyed merino yarns are ethically sourced from South American countries and are 100% mulesing free. All superwash merino is sourced from both large and small farms in Argentina and Uruguay.

We begin the process of dyeing our yarns by soaking the skeins until the fibers are fully wetted. We then apply professional-grade, non-heavy metal acid dyes to the fiber using various methods. To fix the dye to our yarns, we always use food citric acid, which has no smell. Once the dye has fully exhausted in the dye bath overnight, we gently rinse the skeins, spin them dry in a non-heat spin dryer and hang them to dry. If you would like to learn more information about how to keep your yarn looking vibrant and fresh, please see "yarn care" under our policies page.
